The TexShare Card Program

TexShare is a cooperative program designed to improve library service to Texans.

TexShare focuses on the effecient sharing of library holdings, with an emphasis on electronic information resources and traditional collections of books and journals.

TexShare provides leadership and support for the development and use of a statewide library card.

The program allows registered users of participating TexShare libraries to have direct, personal access to library materials not available at their local public or academic libraries.

Follow these simple steps:

1. Register for and recieve a TexShare Card from your home library.

2. Consult the TexShare web site to see the list of libraries which participate and specific lending polocies of the library you wish to visit.

3. Present your TexShare card at the reciprocating library's circulation desk to activate your checkout privilages. You may be required to show a photo I.D. Please note that the card has an expiration date.

4. When you're finished with the materials, return them to the lending library either in person or by firstclass mail.
